Detailed Itinerary
Day 01 – Arrival in Kathmandu (1,364m)
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be warmly welcomed by the SGTREK team and transferred to your hotel. Nepal’s vibrant capital city offers a fascinating blend of ancient heritage, colorful streets, temples, and bustling local markets.
Depending on your arrival time, you may explore the nearby areas or simply relax after your flight. In the evening, your trekking guide will conduct a detailed trip briefing covering trek preparation, safety procedures, altitude awareness, and final gear checks.

Day 02 – Fly to Lukla (2,860m) & Trek to Phakding (2,652m)
Flight: 30–35 mins
Trekking Duration: 3–4 Hours
Distance: Approx. 8 KM
An early morning scenic mountain flight takes you to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. During the flight, enjoy spectacular aerial views of the Himalayan ranges before landing at one of the world’s most thrilling mountain airports.
After meeting the trekking crew, begin your trek with a gentle descent through traditional Sherpa villages, prayer wheels, mani walls, and pine forests alongside the Dudh Koshi River. The pleasant trail leads to the peaceful village of Phakding.

Day 03 – Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)
Trekking Duration: 7–8 Hours
Distance: Approx. 11 KM
Today’s trail follows the beautiful Dudh Koshi River while crossing several iconic suspension bridges, including the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge. The route gradually ascends through rhododendron forests and enters Sagarmatha National Park.
The final climb to Namche Bazaar is challenging but highly rewarding. Upon arrival, enjoy your first breathtaking views of Mount Everest and surrounding Himalayan giants.
Namche Bazaar is the vibrant heart of the Khumbu region, filled with bakeries, trekking shops, cafes, and Sherpa culture.

Day 04 – Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar
Hiking Duration: 3–4 Hours
Distance: Approx. 5–6 KM
Proper acclimatization is essential for a safe and successful trek. Today, you will hike to the famous Everest View Hotel (3,880m), one of the world’s highest luxury hotels.
The viewpoint offers magnificent panoramas of Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Thamserku. Continue exploring the traditional Sherpa villages of Khumjung and Khunde, where you can learn about local mountain culture and lifestyle.
Return to Namche for rest and preparation for higher altitude trekking.

Day 05 – Namche Bazaar to Debuche (3,820m)
Trekking Duration: 5–6 Hours
Distance: Approx. 10.5 KM
The trail offers spectacular mountain scenery throughout the day. Trek along exposed ridges with stunning views of Everest, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and Tengboche Valley.
After descending to the river, a gradual uphill climb brings you to Tengboche Monastery, the largest and most spiritual monastery in the Khumbu region. Surrounded by dramatic Himalayan landscapes, the monastery provides a peaceful and unforgettable atmosphere.
Continue descending through rhododendron forests to Debuche.

Day 06 – Debuche to Dingboche (4,410m)
Trekking Duration: 6–7 Hours
Distance: Approx. 9 KM
Today the landscape gradually changes from green forests to rugged alpine terrain. Trek through Pangboche village while enjoying magnificent close-up views of Ama Dablam.
Cross the Imja River and continue ascending towards Dingboche, a beautiful high-altitude settlement surrounded by stone-walled fields built to protect crops from strong Himalayan winds.

Day 07 – Acclimatization Day in Dingboche
Hiking Duration: 3–4 Hours
Distance: Approx. 5 KM
Another important acclimatization day before heading to higher elevations. You may hike to Nagarjun Hill (approx. 5,100m), which offers incredible panoramic views of Makalu, Island Peak, Ama Dablam, and the surrounding Himalayan range.
After the hike, return to Dingboche for rest and recovery.

Day 08 – Dingboche to Lobuche (4,940m)
Trekking Duration: 4–5 Hours
Distance: Approx. 7 KM
The trail gradually ascends through wide valleys and alpine terrain towards Thukla. From here, a steep climb leads to the Everest Memorial Site dedicated to climbers who lost their lives on Everest expeditions.
Continue trekking along the rugged moraine of the Khumbu Glacier before reaching Lobuche.

Day 09 – Lobuche – Gorak Shep – Everest Base Camp (5,364m)
Trekking Duration: 8–9 Hours
Distance: Approx. 13 KM
One of the most anticipated days of the trek. Follow the rocky glacial trail to Gorak Shep, the final settlement before Everest Base Camp.
After a short rest and lunch, continue trekking to the legendary Everest Base Camp. Standing at the base of the world’s highest mountain is a truly unforgettable achievement and a dream for trekkers worldwide.
Capture your celebration photos before returning to Gorak Shep.

Day 10 – Kala Patthar (5,550m) – Trek to Dzongla (4,830m)
Trekking Duration: Approx. 7 Hours
Distance: Approx. 10 KM
Wake up early for the iconic sunrise hike to Kala Patthar, the best viewpoint in the Everest region. Witness golden sunrise light illuminating Mount Everest, Nuptse, and Pumori.
After descending and breakfast, continue trekking towards Dzongla via quieter and less crowded mountain trails surrounded by dramatic Himalayan scenery.

Day 11 – Dzongla – Cho La Pass (5,428m) – Thangnak (4,750m)
Trekking Duration: 7–8 Hours
Distance: Approx. 8 KM
Today is one of the most adventurous and challenging days of the expedition as you cross the famous Cho La Pass.
The ascent involves steep rocky sections and possible snow or icy terrain depending on weather conditions. From the top of the pass, enjoy breathtaking panoramic Himalayan views before descending carefully towards Thangnak.
This is a true Himalayan alpine crossing experience.

Day 12 – Thangnak to Gokyo (4,650m)
Trekking Duration: 4 Hours
Distance: Approx. 5 KM
Cross the massive Ngozumpa Glacier, the largest glacier in Nepal, while enjoying dramatic ice formations and rugged landscapes.
After crossing the glacier, a gentle ascent leads to the beautiful Gokyo Valley, famous for its stunning turquoise alpine lakes surrounded by snow-capped peaks.
Enjoy a peaceful evening beside the pristine lakes.

Day 13 – Hike to Gokyo Ri (5,420m)
Hiking Duration: Approx. 4 Hours
Distance: Approx. 4 KM

From the summit, witness spectacular views of Everest, Cho Oyu, Makalu, Lhotse, and the entire Gokyo Valley with its glacial lakes below.
After enjoying the scenery, descend back to Gokyo and spend the remainder of the day relaxing.

Day 14 – Scenic Helicopter Flight from Gokyo to Lukla
Today enjoy a spectacular helicopter flight back to Lukla. Witness breathtaking aerial views of glaciers, deep valleys, frozen lakes, and towering Himalayan peaks from above.
This scenic helicopter journey provides an unforgettable perspective of the Everest region and avoids retracing the trekking route.

Day 15 – Flight Back to Kathmandu
Take an early morning flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel.

- Trekking and mountain climbing in the Everest region are subject to unpredictable conditions, especially when it comes to domestic flights. The Kathmandu–Lukla flight is highly weather-dependent. At times, adverse mountain weather can cause delays or cancellations of scheduled flights.
- In the event of a delay or cancellation, clients are responsible for all additional expenses, including meals and accommodation during the waiting period. However, our local partner will fully manage all other logistical arrangements, including guide and staff accommodation and wages, as per the itinerary.
- Should you choose to avoid delays by opting for a helicopter flight, any additional cost must be covered by the client. Please note, our local partner does not accept responsibility for any missed international flights due to domestic delays, but we will assist you in making alternative arrangements wherever possible.
- We strongly recommend that you plan some extra buffer days into your itinerary and book international flights with flexible dates. Please also understand that during the journey, unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather, landslides, natural disasters, or medical conditions may require itinerary changes for the safety and success of the trip.

Terms & Conditions – Everest Base Camp Trek
At SGTREK, the safety and well-being of our participants remain our highest priority. Trekking in the Everest region involves domestic flights that are subject to unpredictable mountain weather, which can occasionally impact schedules. Please read the following carefully before confirming your participation:
- Domestic Flights – Kathmandu ↔ Lukla
- Domestic flights between Kathmandu and Lukla are highly dependent on weather conditions. Cancellations and delays are common.
- In the event of flight cancellations or delays, any additional costs incurred—including but not limited to airport transfers, hotel accommodation, meals, flight rebooking fees, or other logistical arrangements—will be borne by the customer.
- Impact on Trekking Schedule
- Delays in flights may affect the trekking itinerary. If the trek start date is postponed due to weather conditions, the trek cost previously paid will not be adjusted. A new trek start date will require full repayment of the trek package cost.
- If flights are delayed by 2–3 days or more and the trek cannot proceed due to insufficient time to complete the itinerary, the trek will be considered cancelled, and the full amount paid will be forfeited.
- Helicopter Option
- In case of prolonged flight delays, customers may choose to travel by helicopter (heli service).
- All helicopter transfer costs will be paid directly by the customer.
- Cancelled domestic flight tickets are non-refundable.
- Alternative Trekking/Tour Arrangements
- Should customers choose to undertake an alternative trek or tour due to flight cancellations or itinerary changes, the cost of the new trek/tour must be paid additionally.
- Customer Responsibility
- All additional expenses resulting from flight delays, cancellations, accommodation, meals, or alternative arrangements will be the sole responsibility of the customer.
- Customers are strongly advised to secure a comprehensive travel insurance policy that covers flight cancellations, delays, emergency evacuations, and trip cancellations.
- Force Majeure
- SGTREK shall not be held liable or responsible for any failure to perform its obligations, or for delays, changes, or cancellations caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
- Such circumstances include but are not limited to: extreme weather conditions, natural disasters, flight disruptions, government restrictions, strikes, political unrest, pandemics, or other unforeseen events.
- In the event of Force Majeure, no refunds or compensation will be provided, and any additional expenses arising will be the responsibility of the customer.
