These trail shoes are exceptional in every way. They are lightweight, provide excellent traction on muddy trails, mossy rocks, and roots, and offer comfortable cushioning for long days on the trail.
I recently had the opportunity to test these new shoes on the challenging Gunung Datuk sunrise hike at night and the strenuous terrain of Gunung Belumut for a day hike. The shoes performed admirably on both trails, exceeding my expectations. Despite my preference for wider shoes at the front toes, these shoes fit perfectly.
Comfort & Support:
Breaking in new shoes on a hike can be daunting, but these shoes were incredibly comfortable from the first wear. Thanks to the TechLite+™ technology, the shoes fit like a dream and provided all-day comfort on both treks. I didn’t experience any discomfort or need to break them in – they were ready to go right out of the box.
Traction:
Equipped with Columbia’s Adapt Trax traction technology, these shoes offer superior grip in multi terrain conditions. While I haven’t tested them in rainy terrain yet, the traction on various surfaces such as slippery, muddy, and rocky terrain was impressive. The outer sole provided excellent stability on the trails.
Waterproofing:
Although I haven’t had the chance to test the waterproofing feature, Columbia shoes utilize OutDry™ technology to keep your feet dry and comfortable in the rain. I can’t wait to put this feature to the test on a rainy day and provide a detailed review.
In conclusion, these trail shoes have exceeded my expectations in terms of comfort, support, traction, and potential waterproofing capabilities. I look forward to putting them through their paces on more challenging trails in the future.
