An active volcano famed for its sulfur mining activity, Mount Welirang features dramatic fumarole fields and steaming craters. The name “Welirang” translates to sulfur in Javanese. It offers a rugged volcanic landscape and a unique glimpse into traditional sulfur mining methods still in practice today.

OVERVIEW OF ITINERARY:

All Participants should arrive at Surabaya Airport same time for group pickup on Day1. Do check with us on the flight details before booking the tour.

Day 01: Arrival in Surabaya ā€“ Transfer to Batu Malang

Meals Included: ā€“ N/A
Upon arrival at Juanda International Airport (Surabaya), meet and greet with our team. From here, we drive approximately 3 hours to Batu Malang, a cool highland town surrounded by mountains.
Check-in at a cozy hotel in Batu. Enjoy the mountain air and prepare for your trek. Free and easy evening.

Overnight: Hotel in Batu Highlands (Sharing basis)

Day 02: Cangar Village ā€“ Lengkehan Camp (2700m)

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast, a 1-hour drive brings us to Cangar Village ā€“ Sumber Brantas, the starting point of our adventure. After completing the national park permit process, we hop on a small local truck that takes us to the forest edge.

The trek begins through lush montane forests, leading us to Lengkehan Camp, located at 2700m between Mt Kembar I and II.
Enjoy a short hike to Mt Kembar II (3,100m) in the late afternoon for sunset views before returning to camp.

Overnight: Tent Camping at Lengkehan (Sharing basis)

Day 03: Mt Arjuno Summit ā€“ Welirang Summit ā€“ Return to Camp

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Early morning at 03:00 AM, we begin our summit push to Mount Arjuno (3,339m). The climb takes around 3 hours, leading to spectacular sunrise views from one of Java’s most majestic peaks.

After descending to base camp and enjoying lunch, we begin our next trek toward Mount Welirang (3,156m). The route traverses fumarole fields and sulfur vents, where miners still quarry sulfur with traditional methods.

Youā€™ll have time to explore the crater zone, take photos, and witness the raw volcanic energy before returning to camp.

Overnight: Tent Camping (Sharing basis)

Day 04: Descent to Cangar Village ā€“ Surabaya Departure

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch
Wake up morning before 5.30am,

After breakfast, around 06:00am begin your descent via the Cangar trail, trekking through pristine tropical jungle and farmlands.

Optionally, if time permits, soak in Cangar Hot Springs ā€“ a rejuvenating reward after days of trekking.

Private transfer to Surabaya City or Juanda Airport (approx. 3 hours).
End of Services ā€“ Farewell and Sampai Jumpa!
