If you have done hiking Rinjani or Semeru, then you will find Kerinci easier. Lots of scree on the summit day, Tropical Rainforest terrain with muddy slopes, need to grab roots, ropes along the trail some point.

DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Padang Airport – Kersik Tuo Village (7 hrs drive)
Meet & greet upon arrival at Minangkabau International Airport, Padang.
Scenic drive (approx. 7 hrs) through Bung Hatta National Forest, passing cinnamon & fruit plantations.
Enroute lunch at a local restaurant.
Arrive in Kersik Tuo Village / Pelompek in the late afternoon.
Check-in at Kerinci View Homestay – enjoy stunning views, cool fresh air, and warm hospitality.
Dinner and rest before your trekking adventure.

Day 2: Kersik Tuo – Mount Kerinci Trekking (Base Camp Shelter 3)
Breakfast at the homestay.
Meet your local mountain guide & porters for briefing and gear preparation.
Transfer by local jeep to the starting point (1,600m).
Begin your trek through tropical rainforest, spotting unique flora & fauna.
Trekking duration: 7–8 hours, reaching Shelter 3 (3,305m).
Dinner & overnight camping at the base camp under the stars.

Day 3: Summit Day – Descent – Return to Kersik Tuo Village
Early wake-up call at 04:00 AM.
Light breakfast before summit push.
Trekking duration: 3–4 hrs ascent to the summit (3,805m).
Witness the spectacular sunrise over Sumatra, with panoramic views of Gunung Tujuh Lake, surrounding peaks & lush valleys.
Photo session & enjoy the “top of Sumatra” experience.
Descend back to Shelter 3 for a proper breakfast.
Continue descent (approx. 5 hrs) back to the starting point.
Transfer to Kerinci View Homestay for hot shower, rest & dinner.
