Introduction:

This 10 days tour itinerary combines the Central and West parts of Mongolia where the nomadic culture lives together with the modern world.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1. Arrive to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

Do check with us on the flight details. The entire group should arrive same time at Ulaanbaatar. Group pickup will be done by our local Guides/Drivers.

Arrival day to Mongolia. Ulaanbaatar is a capital city of Mongolia and continues as the major commercial and cultural center of the country, as well as its most populous and most cosmopolitan city. Do check in at your hotel and have dinner at local Mongolian restaurant. LD

Day 2. Visiting Chinggis Khan Equestrian Statue in Tsonjin Boldog along with Terelj National Park

After breakfast we drive to Chinggis Khan Equestrian Statue in Tsonjin Boldog. The massive statue made of 250 tons of gleaming stainless steel will take your breath away. Then drive to Terelj NP were we had a lunch while exploring the nature around.

You will be introduced to Mongolia’s history, culture, architecture, nature, people and their traditions and local cuisine. Overnight in hotel. BLD

Day 3. Domestic flight to Bayan-Ulgii province

Catch a domestic flight from Ulaanbaatar to Ulgii city. Pick up the main group from Ulgii airport and then start driving to South River camp. After an hour of drive, we will arrive to the camp and do check in. Have lunch and then drive to Bazarbai and Talap’s family who are Eagle Hunters and brothers as well, located 30mins drive from the camp. Here at Eagle hunter’s family, we will be introduced to a family and experience their nomadic lifestyle and their ancient tradition of hunting with golden eagles. Have a teatime and organize a photo shooting event and try archery with a hunter’s family. By the evening, we drive back to camp and have dinner. BLD

Days 4-5. Annual Golden Eagle Festival 2025

The next two days will be the main highlight of our trip. We will drive together with our Eagle Hunter and his majestic Eagle to the Festival location. Meet the Kazakh Eagle-hunters. The rodeo of eagle-hunting. A fantastic opportunity for photographers and adventurers alike to see these magnificent birds up close. There are approx. 400 eagle-hunters in Bayan-Ulgii province. This means, almost 80% of the eagle-hunters in the world live here in Mongolia. The eagle-hunters from around regions gather to test their finely trained birds in singular contests of speed and agility in these few days. During the festival we also see some Kazakh Traditional Games such as: Horse-racing, pick-up coins on Horseback, Wrestling and others. In the evening, we can enjoy a traditional Kazakh Concert. Overnight at the South River camp. BLD

Day 6. Staying with Eagle Hunter’s Family and experiencing the nomadic lifestyle

After breakfast we start driving towards Sagsai village and our today’s destination will be another Eagle Hunter’s family (Saldat’s family). Meeting with an Eagle Hunter Saldat’s family and his Golden Eagle and organizing another photo shooting event, while exploring the area where we will visit ancient human shaped Balbal stones. Lunch at Saldat’s place and by the evening drive back to Ulgii and overnight in hotel. BLD

Day 7. Drive to Hovd city to see the throat singers

Today we drive to Hovd province to see one-of-a-kind performance of traditional throat singers and enjoy their performance specially organized for your group. Later we will explore the city and its surroundings. Overnight at hotel in Hovd city. BLD

Day 8. Drive back to Ulgii city

Today after breakfast we drive back to Ulgii city to do some city tour, shopping and in the evening farewell dinner with all your local crew. Overnight at hotel in Ulgii. BLD

Day 9. Flight back to Ulaanbaatar

In the morning after breakfast, we fly back to Ulaanbaatar and check in at your hotel. Dinner in a traditional Mongolian restaurant. Overnight at a hotel. BLD

Day 10. Departure back to home country. End of the trip!

Group departure to Ulaanbaatar Airport. End of awesome trip.

Includes:

Domestic flights, transportation within in Mongolia, accommodation (all the overnight hotel and yurts) three meals a day, drinking water (2 liters per day per person), English speaking guide, rental of riding horses or camels, support staff including drivers, cook and assistants all Border and National Park and Festival taxes and permits. Possible to help with some visa problems.

Do not include:

International transportation (from/to your home country), travel insurance, visas, departure tax, alcoholic drinks, gratuities, items of a personal nature, additional airport transfer.

During the trip:

Transportation: We will use 4X4 Toyota Land Cruisers for the tour.

Food: Three meals a day which includes: traditional Mongolian and Kazakh cuisines (European and Asian meals always available and if you are a meat lover then there will be a beef and lamb meet in the daily menu, if you are a vegetarian then no worries as well . We have a special menu too), fruits, cookies, juice and drinking water will always be available during the trip.

Accommodation: 3* hotels and yurts (*4star hotel options available to upgrade)

What to bring: Water and wind proof jackets, sunglasses, good hiking boots, any personal items if needed, gloves (you will need it during the horse riding), small backpack, binoculars (there will be a lot of wild animals in the mountains so you can see/watch them from distance), torchlight and so on.

An experienced tour guide and the drivers will always accompany you during all the trip days.
