If you are planning to conquer your first 1,000 m+ mountain, Mount Belumut is an excellent place to begin. It is the second-highest peak in Johor, after Mount Ophir (1,276 m).

Rising to 1,010 metres, Mount Belumut is located in the Kluang District of Johor, Malaysia. The ascent typically takes 4 to 6 hours to reach the summit, with a 3 to 4-hour descent back to the trailhead, making it a rewarding yet achievable challenge for most hikers.

With its close proximity to Singapore—just a few hours’ drive away—Mount Belumut is an ideal training ground for Singapore-based trekkers who are preparing for higher-altitude mountains or looking to step up from beginner hikes to their first serious summit experience.

Event registration closes 1 weeks before to the event date or before the event gets full.
Do check you have a valid passport/Expiry date for the event, as passport copy will be needed to apply permits.
Once the event permits are applied, event cost is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Advised to get travel insurance once you book the event.

Meetup Time : 05.15 am (05.30am depart from Marsiling Mrt Bus Stop) – Do be on time. We will not be waiting for late comers.

ITINERARY HIGHLIGHTS:

Gunung Belumut Day Hike

05:15 AM – Meet at Marsiling MRT Station for a short briefing. Please ensure you have breakfast before the meetup, or bring food to consume in the vehicle or prior to the start of the hike.

05:30 AM – Depart for the Singapore–Johor Checkpoint. Participants may purchase water, snacks, and other essentials at Johor Customs.

07:30 – 08:00 AM – Arrive at Mount Belumut Base. Meet the local guides and prepare for the hike. A safety briefing will be conducted.

08:15 AM – Begin the hike from the trailhead.

09:00 AM – 12:00 PM – Progress through Checkpoints 1 to 4.

12:30 PM – Reach the summit of Mount Belumut. Lunch and rest at the peak (bring your own food and snacks).
For safety reasons, participants who do not reach the summit by 1:00 PM will be required to turn back.

01:00 PM – Commence descent.

04:30 PM – Arrive back at the base. Shower facilities are available for a quick refresh and change of clothes. Thereafter, depart for dinner en route.

07:00 PM – Depart for Singapore.

11:30 PM – Arrive at Marsiling MRT Station.
