Lake Gunung Tujuh or The Seven Mountain Lake in English is a volcanic crater lake in the province of Jambi, Indonesia, located at 1°42′23″S 101°24′42″E within Kerinci National Park. Although a young lake, in geologic terms, its surrounding volcano, Mount Tujuh. The name “Danau Gunung Tujuh” translates as “Seven Mountain Lake,” a seeming reference to seven peaks comprising the forested rim. The tallest of them rises 2732m above sea level, while the lake surface sits at 2005m. The lake is a popular overnight hiking destination among Park visitors and is sometimes fished by locals.

Event Grading: Moderate
(If you have done hiking Rinjani or Semeru, then you would find Kerinci mush easier. Lots of scree on the summit day, Tropical Rainforest terrain with muddy slopes, need to grab roots, ropes along the trail some point.)

Overview of Itinerary:

Day 1: SINGAPORE – PADANG – KERSIK TUO

Book yours flights from Singapore-Padang-Singapore as per the details below. Upon Arrival at Padang Airport our LOCAL Guide will meet and greet the group. From there the group will depart for the adventurous journey.

14.00 Pickup upon arrival at Minangkabau Airport Padang
15.00 Heading to Kersik Tuo about 5 to 6 hours drive
Late midnight Arrived at Kersik Tuo then check in homestay

Meals: Lunch, Dinner (*Will be at own cost along the way)
Accommodation: homestay (sharing basis)

Day2: TREKKING GUNUNG TUJUH (B, L, D)

09.00 After breakfast transfer to starting point Gunung Tujuh
10.00 Trekking Gunung Tujuh approximately 2 hours
12.00 Having lunch at the lake of Gunung Tujuh
15.00 Return to Homestay then free and easy

Day 3: KERSIK TUO – SHELTER 3 KERINCI (B, L, D)

06.00 After breakfast, transfer to Forest Entrance
07.00 Start trekking to the last Campsite for about 9 hours
12.00 Stop for having lunch and rest around Shelter 1
16.00 Reach the last campsite then free and easy

Day 4: SUMMIT KERINCI – KERSIK TUO (B, L, D)

03.00 wakeup before 3am and preparation for summit
05.00 You will reach the summit during the sunrise at 05.30am
07.00 Return to campsite for breakfast and preparation going down
10.00 Trekking down to Kersik Tuo Homestay
16.00 Arrived at the homestay then free and easy

Day 5: KERSIK TUO – MINANGKABAU AIRPORT PADANG – SINGAPORE

Midnight Wakeup and preparation for return to Padang (approximately 5 hours)
