The Mardi Himal Trek is a newly opened route and hidden treasure in the Annapurna region. Mardi Himal trek offers imaging view of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchre and Manaslu ranges. Mardi Himal base camp, Siding village and Lwang are the major attractions of this trek. The trek was officially opened in 2012 and is still pristine. There are limited teahouses with basic facilities. This is a short, relatively easy and unspoiled trek not far from Pokhara. Yet it is highly diverse with cultural insight, beautiful forest walks and alpine landscape. As the trail mostly stays along the ridge, the altitude gain becomes more gradual.

DETAILED ITINERARY
Arrive in Kathmandu as per the itinerary and update us of your arrival flight details to Kathmandu Airport.
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m)
Welcome to Kathmandu (1320m). Our representative will be at the airport. Upon arrival you will be heartily welcomed by him putting garland on your neck which means welcome to Nepal. Then you will be driven to the hotel by car. Rest and enjoy the day around the town.
Hotel in Kathmandu
Day 02: Drive to Pokhara (823m): 7 hours
Early morning, we will drive to Pokhara. It is 7 hours’ drive. The drive will be along the bank of River with a fantastic view. Once we reach Pokhara we can take a short walk on Fewa Lake and can do some shopping.
Hotel in Pokhara – B
Day 03: Drive to Phedi and trek to Pothana or Deurali 4-5 hour (2100m)
Early morning after breakfast we drive to Phedi (45 minutes) and start the trek. From Phedi, we trek to all the way up to Dhampus passing by big Gurung village where you can experience local culture and village lifestyle then straight and gradually up to Pothana.
Tea House in Pothana – B, L, D
Day 04: Pothana to Forest Camp (2,600m) – 4 – 5 hours
From Landruk you walk up to a place called Pitam Deurali where you will turn off the main Annapurna Sanctuary trek and continue along a quiet trail through a dense forest of oak, maple, hemlock and rhododendron. Tonight, we will stay at one of the lodges in a clearing of the forest at Forest Camp or also known by the locals as Kokar. The lodges at Kokar are quite basic and there is no dining room so you will probably have meals in kitchen with the owner, so in some ways this is more like a home stay and is a good opportunity to get to know this friendly family from Siding village.
Tea House in Forest Camp- B, L, D
Day 05: Trek to High Camp (3,700m) – 6 hours trekking.
An hour or so above Low Camp the trail breaks out above tree line and towards the west there is a good view to Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. The trail continues along the Mardi Himal ridge mainly on grass with some isolated rhododendron bushes along the way. Look out for the colourful Danphe pheasant on this section of the trail. The lodge at High Camp is larger than lodges at Low Camp and Forest Camp, this one has eight rooms and a separate dining room with heater. The view from the lodge is superb to Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail).
Tea House in High Camp- B, L, D
Day 06: Excursion to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500m) – 4 hours trekking.
The plan for today is to wake early for sunrise view of the mountains then after an early breakfast walk up the ridge towards Mardi Himal Base Camp. There is a well-established trail through the grass with a couple of steeper sections, however overall, not too challenging. Look out for the dzokpo (yak/ cow crossbreds) grazing up here as well as Danphe pheasant. In the summer the sheep and goats from lower villages are brought up to graze in this area so you will pass a number of herder’s huts along the way. After three hours you should reach Base Camp at the elevation of 4500m this is where one can look into the Annapurna Sanctuary and the panorama view is spectacular looking at south face of Annapurna and all of the peaks in the Sanctuary as well as Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail).
Tea House in High Camp- B, L, D
Day 07: Trek to Siding village (1,750m) -6 hours walking.
On the way back we take a different route so completing a circuit, from Low Camp there is a trail that goes down to Siding village rather than going back down Mardi Himal back to Kokar. Siding is a traditional Nepalese village and still very much away from the busier modern tourist treks and it is likely you will stay at a homestay in Siding owned by the person who runs one of the lodges at Low Camp. It is a wonderful cultural experience finding out more about village life and you will probably eat dhal baht in the evening with the family in their kitchen.
Tea House in Siding- B, L, D
Day 08: Trek to Lumre and drive to Pokhara- 3 hours walking and 2 hours driving.
From Siding you walk out to the road head at Lumre, on the way from Siding you will pass the villages of Kalimati and Ghalel. From Lumre you drive back to Pokhara
Hotel in Pokhara- B, L
Day 09: Drive back to Kathmandu by tourist bus.
Today we will drive back to Kathmandu from Pokhara by private van. After reaching Kathmandu can do some shopping rest.
Hotel in Kathmandu – B
Day 10: Fly back to home country.
Morning after breakfast, we will drop you back to Kathmandu Airport. We will put you Khada (a kind of cloth which is used to wear on your neck). Wearing Khada means good luck and protection. See you next time.

Terms & Conditions – Nepal Tours
At SGTREK, the safety and well-being of our participants remain our highest priority. Travel and trekking in Nepal often involve domestic flights and land transport that are subject to unpredictable mountain weather and operational factors, which may impact schedules. Please read the following carefully before confirming your participation.
- Domestic Flights & Land Transport
Domestic flights within Nepal—including but not limited to Kathmandu ↔ Lukla and Kathmandu ↔ Pokhara—are highly dependent on weather conditions. Cancellations and delays are common.
In the event of flight cancellations or delays, any additional costs incurred—including but not limited to airport transfers, hotel accommodation, meals, flight rebooking fees, or other logistical arrangements—shall be borne by the customer.
Where land transport is used as an alternative (e.g., Kathmandu ↔ Pokhara by road), delays may occur due to road conditions, traffic, or unforeseen events. Any associated costs or changes will be the customer’s responsibility.
- Impact on Trekking/Tour Schedule
Delays in flights or land transport may affect the itinerary. If the trek or tour start date is postponed due to such disruptions, the package cost previously paid will not be adjusted. A new start date will require full repayment of the package cost.
If flights or transport are delayed by 2–3 days or more and the trek or tour cannot proceed due to insufficient time, the trip will be considered cancelled, and the full amount paid will be forfeited.
- Helicopter Option
In the case of prolonged flight delays (especially for Lukla-bound treks), customers may choose to travel by helicopter (heli service).
All helicopter transfer costs are to be paid directly by the customer.
Cancelled domestic flight tickets are non-refundable.
- Alternative Trekking/Tour Arrangements
If customers choose to undertake an alternative trek or tour due to flight cancellations, delays, or other itinerary changes, the full cost of the new trek/tour will be charged additionally.
- Customer Responsibility
All additional expenses resulting from flight delays, cancellations, accommodation, meals, or alternative arrangements will be the sole responsibility of the customer.
Customers are strongly advised to secure a comprehensive travel insurance policy that includes coverage for flight delays, cancellations, emergency evacuations, medical treatment, and trip cancellations.
- Force Majeure
SGTREK or its Local Service Provider shall not be held liable or responsible for any failure to perform its obligations, or for delays, changes, or cancellations caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
Such circumstances include but are not limited to: extreme weather conditions, natural disasters, flight disruptions, government restrictions, strikes, political unrest, pandemics, or other unforeseen events.
In the event of Force Majeure, no refunds or compensation will be provided, and any additional expenses arising will be the responsibility of the customer.
✅ Important Note: While SGTREK will always provide every possible assistance to minimize inconvenience, circumstances beyond our control (such as weather conditions, transport delays, airline operations, or Force Majeure events) are not included in the package price. All decisions will be made with customer safety as the top priority.
