A new tourist attraction, a via ferrata, has been installed into a hillside in Kampung Paya Gunung. Italian for “iron road”, the via ferrata is a series of steel cables that allow climbers to scale the limestone rock hill, giving them a 360-degree view of the surroundings, including Jerantut town, the Felda settlement, Kota Gelanggi caves and also the neighboring Gunung Senyum.
The hill had existed for millions of years and villagers said the area was once a quarry. The Kampung Paya Gunung Pinnacle is a free-standing monolith with two distinct peaks namely Paya Gunung Tower A for the main peak and Paya Gunung Tower B for another peak. Through a multi-pitch climb or Via Ferrata will take you straight to the top of the main peak while the second peak can only be accessed by another Via Ferrata route.
Adventure Grading: Suitable for participants who love outdoor climbing’s. If you have no skills in abseiling this would be a great exposure for you. Our professional guides will teach you and guide you along this full day abseiling experience. Not suitable for people with fear of heights do take note.

Detailed Itinerary:
On 20-March-2020, everyone should meetup at Marsiling MRT BUS STOP (Maxi Cash) at 11.00pm. Event Coordinators will do a quick briefing. Once the transport arrives, we will depart to Customs. At Johor Customs there are stalls for you do some last-minute shopping food/snacks/water etc. could be bought. From there we will also be departing to Kampong Paya Gunung. Along the highway we would be stopping by early morning breakfast, you could take away some food also from there. It’s around 5-6hours journey from Johor Customs.
Below is the rough itinerary:
- 11.00pm Meetup at Marsiling Mrt Bus Stop (Maxi Cash)
- Depart around 11.10pm to Woodland Checkpoint
- Cross Johor Checkpoint
- Drive to R&R along highway
- Take breakfast & pack your food for the adventure
- 0800hrs. Meet at VFPG Campsite and meetup with the local professional guides
- 0830hrs. Equipment’s and safety briefing by the local guides
- 0900hrs. Climb up to peak 1
- 1100hrs. Climb up to peak 2
- 1300hrs. Down to VFPG Campsite
- 1400hrs. VFPG Campsite
- Once the activity is done. Clean up and then depart to Singapore.
- Along the way we will stop over for dinner
- Estimated arrival time to Singapore before midnight.
- End of the Adventure
