How can I recycle my outdoor gear?
Over the last 5years of my hiking experience I’ve collected a lot of outdoor gears almost which 30% of my gears I hardly use. As Chinese New Year is around the corner and spring cleaning has started for most of you all. You may also find some of your gears which might not be of much use for you and also the resell value might not be that high, you might be wondering how you could recycle your gears?
We are initiating SGTREK GARAGE – Gift Your Gears, where one could loan a gear from us at FREE OF COST for their adventures. We want to make sure all our gears are put for good use and also this could help the community members in need. We would like to offer this services to all our SGTREK community members. We would also like to encourage our Community Members to donate unwanted outdoor gear they no longer want or need. We could put if for good use.

What can I donate?
CAMPING & BACKPACKING GEAR
– camp stoves, tents, backpacks, trekking poles, clean sleeping bags, headlamps, lanterns, cookware etc.
WINTER GEAR
– snowshoes, winter boots
OUTDOOR CLOTHING
– midlayers, outerwear, rainwear, hats & gloves, boots etc
ROCK CLIMBING GEAR
– Rock climbing shoes, harnesses, helmets etc
YOGA GEAR
– yoga mats, blocks & straps etc
Please don’t send us
- Hydration packs
- Underwear
- Weapons
All gear should be able to be reused for its original purpose. For example, tents should be complete, all clothing should be reusable without repair and all donations should be clean. Please check the pockets before sending.

Do I have to pay for loaning a gear?
- SGTREK GARAGE – Gift Your Gears, is a free service to all our SGTREK MEMBERS where one could loan a gear from us at FREE OF COST for their adventures.
Is there any duration period for loaning the gears?
- Based on your adventure dates you can loan the gear for free and after ending your trip you can return us.

All the outdoor equipment and gear is quite costly. Gear lone or gear rent is better option. I appreciate that issue.
We do have some gear for free to loan, some already have contributed the gears which they don’t use. Feel free to check with us.
