Program Details

Day 1. Osh city – Kozho-Kelen village

We’ll meet at 9 a.m. at the Sunrise Hotel (Osh) and head to the village of Kozho-Kelen. The road passes through picturesque landscapes: majestic mountains, green meadows, flower fields, and shepherd camps.

On the way, we will stop at the Papan Reservoir – an important water source for the entire city of Osh, as well as for irrigating farmlands in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.

The route is 100 km long and takes about 3.5 hours. It follows the Ak-Buura River, with emerald arch-shaped mountains framing the road on both sides.

Upon arrival in Kozho-Kelen (2,230 m), we will be greeted at a guest house by a local family, where we will settle in and relax. Lunch will be served in lunch boxes.

After lunch, we will go on an acclimatization hike (2–3 hours) to the Blue Grotto and waterfall. The trail runs through narrow mountain canyons with whimsical shapes and unusual-colored cliffs.

In the evening, we return to the guest house, rest, and have dinner.

Day 2. Kojo-Kelen Village – Dzhiptyk Pass

After breakfast, we set off towards the upper reaches of the gorge. The trail follows a noisy mountain river in the direction of Dzhiptyk Pass.

This unique place embodies everything that can be called “jailoo” – an endless mountain valley where snow-capped peaks of majestic mountains rise on the horizon.

The scenery here is truly magical: fresh mountain air, slender fir trees, junipers, and whimsical patterns on the rocks — all this creates a harmonious picture that is impossible to look away from.

By evening, we arrive at the tent camp, where dinner and an overnight stay under the starry sky await us.

Day 3. Dzhiptyk Pass – Alay Valley – Achyk-Tash Base Camp

Today we cross Dzhiptyk Pass (4185 m) and open for ourselves the Alay Valley.
The route begins with a gentle ascent across picturesque alpine meadows along the slope of the gorge. Then comes a more challenging section – a climb up a steep scree slope directly to the top of the pass.

From the pass, a breathtaking panorama opens up: the endless Alai Valley lies at your feet, and in the distance, the majestic Pamir rises. If the weather is favorable, you can spot a seven-thousander – the legendary Lenin Peak – and the grand summits of the Zaalay Range.

The ascent will take about 4–5 hours, but every step is worth these views and impressions.

After lunch, we begin our descent along the old, now-closed road leading into the gorge to the famous “Rock Gates,” where our vehicle will be waiting.

Next – transfer to the cozy Achyk-Tash Base Camp (3600 m), where a delicious dinner and rest await, so you can recharge before the next adventures.

Day 4. Achyk-Tash Base Camp – Ascent to Petrovsky Peak Ridge

Today we have an acclimatization hike – an ascent to the ridge of the nearby Petrovsky Peak (4,200 m). From there, a breathtaking panorama opens up: below lies the valley and the picturesque Achyk-Tash gorge.

For those who prefer a more relaxed pace, the day can be spent in the base camp – resting, preparing, and getting ready before the ascent to Camp 1.

In the evening – rest, dinner, and overnight in tents at the base camp.

Day 5. Achyk-Tash Base Camp – Traveler’s Pass – Camp 1

After breakfast, we set off for Camp 1 via the Traveler’s Pass (4,150 m). The ascent to the pass usually takes about 1–1.5 hours along a good trail.

From the pass, there are impressive views of Lenin Peak and the Lenin Glacier. Sometimes, snow cornices can be seen on the pass, adding a special atmosphere to the journey.

Next, we descend to the left moraine of the glacier, where we face another 3 hours of climbing. Along the way, we carefully cross a mountain river and then continue along the left moraine until we reach Camp 1.

In the evening – dinner and rest in the tents of Camp 1.

Day 6. Camp 1 – Yukhin Peak – Camp 1

Today we have an exciting acclimatization hike – an ascent to the scenic Yukhin Peak (5130 m). This is a great opportunity to test your strength and enjoy the incredible views all around.

The classic route does not involve climbing steep rocks or ice, so it does not require special equipment or extensive experience.

From the summit, an impressive panorama opens up: the majestic north face of Lenin Peak and the vast Alay Valley spread out at your feet.

After enjoying the spectacular views, we return to Camp 1 for rest and preparation for the next adventures. In the evening – dinner and overnight stay in Camp 1 tents.

Day 7. Camp 1 – Achyk-Tash Base Camp

After breakfast, we set off back to the familiar Achyk-Tash Base Camp. The route begins with a short ascent, followed by about 4 hours of continuous descent along scenic trails.

Upon returning to the camp, you will enjoy a pleasant rest and have the opportunity to take a shower – a perfect way to refresh after an eventful day.

In the evening, a festive dinner will be served in honor of the successful completion of the route.

Day 8. Achyk-Tash Base Camp – Osh city

Tipping in Kyrgyzstan: recommendations

In Kyrgyzstan, tips are not mandatory but are always appreciated by service staff. Tips are not usually included in the price of services.

In cafes and restaurants, you may see an additional charge of 10-15% on your bill, but this is not a tip – it is part of the staff’s salary.

It would also be nice to tip the guide, driver, and porters. This is a great way to express your gratitude for their work and attention.

As a guideline, the average tip is approximately USD 7-10 per person per day, which is distributed among all staff members – drivers, guides, porters.

However, the amount of the tip is always at your discretion and depends on the quality of service and your means.
